Yesterday we started a Gloomhaven campaign. The game is a Dungeon crawler which does NOT have any roleplaying. However, because it’s us, we ended up developing personalities for our characters that we have decided to keep for the rest of the campaign
Mine is the little overhyped goblin who just rushes in a throws bombs to whatever the fuck is the biggest thing. Doesn’t matter if it’s strategically sound, if there’s a destructible object, it WILL be destroyed
Our healer is a gold digger who has skills to literally force her own allies to do shit, and she can only earn experience by being close to the enemies, but we kill all the enemies before she even gets into the room XD

I’m familiar with the “roleplaying more than the dungeoncrawler game requires” phenomenon, it happened to us back when we played Hero Quest.
